Award-winning Director Got it Wrong
Award-winning filmmaker Mohana Krishna Indraganti has a reputation of making clean and critically acclaimed films. Right from his debut film Grahanam to his previous film Anthaka Mundu Aa Tharuvatha, Indraganti garnered laurels and accolades. But with his latest offing Bandipotu, he certainly missed the bull's eye as the movie failed to meet the expectations.
Although Allari Naresh is in good form and carried off the film on his shoulders, Indraganti definitely disappointed his fans with his latest film. Since the movie was coming from the auteur of films like Ashta Chemma, Golconda High School and home banner of EVV, expectations were high and Indraganti's intelligent con film seems to have backfired. Indraganti got it wrong to an extent but the film's cast Naresh, Sapathagiri, Rao Ramesh, Tanikella Bharani and Avasara Srinivas came to rescue. - See more at: http://www.gulte.com/movienews/36217/Award-winning-Director-Got-it-Wrong#sthash.pYSbB6i9.dpuf

Sukumar changes strategy for NTR film

aDirector Sukumar is getting ready to begin his next project that will have NTRnd Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. For this film, Sukumar is reportedly going to try something different from what he normally does.
This director is known for taking an unconventional approach to screenplay and narration. While this approach has won him a lot of laurels, Box Office results have been mixed. Some people even say that this approach is a bit confusing for the average film lover.
So for NTR’s film, Sukumar is going to take a conventional approach. Sources say that there will be no confusion or complexity in the screenplay and the film. But at the same time, stylish taking and high technical values of a typical Sukumar film will be retained.
The film will go on to the floors towards the end of next month. BVSN Prasad will be producing this big budget action entertainer.

Apart from the lyrical stalwarts like Rajasri and Veturi, Mani Ratnam teamed up with yet another legendary poet ‘Sirivennela’ Seetharamasastry for ‘Prematho’, the Telugu version of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dil Se’. After a long time, the Mani-Sirivennela combo is back with the director’s latest romantic drama ‘Ok Bangaram’. Going by both the legends’ tryst with poetic depth, we can surely expect a musical masterpiece. The film’s audio will release in March.
Popular producer ‘Dil’ Raju will release the Telugu version tentatively on 14th April.

Review : Gayakudu – Good songs but Poor Story Telling
Release date : Feb 20, 2015
movierules123.com Rating : 2.25/5
Director : G Kamal
Producer : Jammalamadugu Ravindranath
Music Director : Roshan Saluri
Starring: Siddhans, Akshara, Saptagiri
Directed by G Kamal, the Siddhans and Akshara starrer ‘Gayakudu’ hit the screens today. The film launches popular music director Koti’s son, Roshan Saluri, as a music composer. Jammalamadugu Ravindranath produced this film under his ‘Dheeru Films’ banner and Mrs. Lakshmi is the film’s presenter. Let us see how the movie fared.
Story:
There is only one Karna in the epic ‘Maha Bharatha’ but many Karnas in our country, Bharat. Siddhans is one among them. Siddhans is orphaned as his mother dumps him at a dustbin soon after his birth. He is adopted by a beggar who sings on the streets to earn his livelihood. Before dying, the beggar teaches him a song. The song makes Siddhans a famous celebrity and he goes on to win the New Indian Idol Competition. Even after achieving fame and money, lack of love since his childhood keeps on haunting him.
In a chance telephonic encounter, Siddhans meets Akshara and falls in love with her. He interacts with her using a proxy name Sidhu. Akshara supports him and showers the love he has been craving for. Siddhans soon realizes that Akshara is a huge fan of his songs and he proposes his love to Akshara as Siddhans, the singer, and gets into a hide seek game with her by not revealing his identity as her phone friend Sidhu. Even Akshara falls head over heels for Siddhans.
Why does Akshara says “I Hate You” to Siddhans? Why does she agree to the marriage fixed by her parents? Will Siddhans sacrifice his singing to save his love? Will Akshara find out that Siddhans and Sidhu are indeed the same person? You will have to watch the film to find out.
Plus Points:
Even though this is their debut as the main leads, both Siddhans and Akshara performed really well. Siddhans showed maturity in the singer’s role. He needs to tune his expressions in emotional scenes. Akshara, impresses with topnotch performance in almost every scene. Her experience as a child actress helped her throughout. However, the teen actress still looks quite young.
The film’s music, composed by Roshan Saluri, is a great asset to the film. All his songs are trendy and have been shot well. The director shows his spark in cleverly using the songs in the narrative.
Minus Points:
The lead pair and other important cast have performed well in a story that has good emotional depth. But the audience will still feel dissatisfied with the scenes that come and go one after the other, without leaving a strong impact in the audiences minds. The director could not succeed in involving the audience from start to finish.
The comedy track featuring Saptagiri looks forced. His routine histrionics and acting failed to generate any laughs. The love track between the lead pair should have been more entertaining. Especially, the scenes in the second half appear repeated after Akshara says “I Hate You”. These scenes should have been trimmed by at least 15 minutes. The pre-climax and the climax fail to elevate the feel due to lack of emotional depth.
Technical Aspects:
Roshan Saluri’s music is fine. The lyrical values in the songs penned by Chandrabose and Ananth Sriram impress the audience. The cinematographer Kolli Durga Prasad captures the mesmerizing beauty of Vizag in his frames. The production values are topnotch.
The director G Kamal fails in bringing justice to his story. Love stories like these should be handled with extra feel and emotion to make them reach the audiences. The dialogues written by G Kamal fail to invoke the feeling of love.
Verdict:
The lead actors act well and save the film to an extent. The songs composed by Roshan Saluri are modern and help the film sustain the audience interest. Amidst all these positives, the director fails to instill the feeling of love among the audience with this musical love story. The audiences will end up dissatisfied with this half baked love saga.

Music Review : Temper- Funky Album
Song 5 : Ittage Recchipodam
Analysis:- The last song in the album is the item number Ittage Rechhipodam. Probably the massiest song in the album, this number is completely aimed at the frontbenchers. The beats in the number are kept quite local and have a unique flavour attached to them. What ticks in this number is the superb singing by Geeta Madhuri which is quite funky.
The much awaited music album of NTR’s Temper was launched amidst huge fan fare yesterday. Anup Rubens has given the music score, and lets now see how the complete album turns out to be.
Analysis:- The first song is Choolenge Aasma which is probably the best song in the album. Sung by the super talented Adnan Sami, this song is quite groovy and the Hindi lyrics are a nice addition. Anup Rubens makes sure that the song has a goan feel and makes it quite urban and stylish. A true chartbuster when you listen to it for the first time itself.
Analysis:- The second song in the album is the title song Temper, which is quite an interesting track. It has a mass hook up line which gets on to you instantly. Lyrics of this song are also quite quirky and the funky singing only raises the tempo of this song a bit higher. The mass audience especially Nandamuri fans will definitely end up liking this song.
Analysis:- Moving on, third song in the album is Devudaa. Sung by Anup Rubens himself, this is a typical number which comes across in all Puri Jagan movies with his kind of lyrics which are quite satirical. This number has a funky tune and its orchestration only makes it more peppy.
Analysis:- Fourth song in the album is the lovable number One more time. Probably the only romantic song in the album, this number is a completely soothing and has a quirky hook up line ‘on the spot which is quite good. Lyrics are romantic and have a calming effect on the listeners.
Song 5 : Ittage RecchipodamAnalysis:- The last song in the album is the item number Ittage Rechhipodam. Probably the massiest song in the album, this number is completely aimed at the frontbenchers. The beats in the number are kept quite local and have a unique flavour attached to them. What ticks in this number is the superb singing by Geeta Madhuri which is quite funky.
Verdict:-
With Temper, Anup Rubens proves that he can handle a typical big budget commercial entertainer as well. Choolenge Aasma, Devudaa and Temper are our picks and will be liked by one and all. Finally, Temper is a mixed bag of an album which has some thing for everyone.

Allari Naresh: Allari Naresh who has been typecasted with comedy films has tried to change his image. Gamyam and Sambho Siva Sambho are two such films where he played different type of characters and succeeded. But those films were multi-actor movies (2 or more heroes). Whenever he tried solo films with different subjects (Laddu Babu & Pellaindi Kaani) or youth subjects remakes (Juniors or Nenu), he didn’t succeed. He finally succeeds by doing different film with Bandipotu. He has to shed his typical body language and unlearn himself to do this role. He looks good and added freshness to the subject with his work. He has chosen the right story and got into the skin of the character and delivered.
Others:
Story - screenplay - direction: The director pays tribute to a big English writer Edger Wallace (King Kong fame) during the opening credits of the movie. Story of the film is nice and narrated in a classic flashback pattern with hero’s voice over. Screenplay of the film is nice and story is simple with a few twists unfolding at regular intervals. Mohan Krishna Indraganti is a learned man with good exposure to world literature and world cinema. Mohan Krishna has made sure that he has stuck to basics and his strengths though he is making a film with Allari Naresh whose expertise lies in loud comedy. However, there are few dull moments in Posani Krishna Murali episodes. But, dull moments are the integral part of any con movie.
Other departments:
Analysis: Allari Naresh departs from his regular style and indulges in this movie which is in a different genre. Mohan Krishna Indraganti is making sure that he is not repeating the genre in the five films he has done so far. Though, he has done this film in a classy way, there are enough commercial elements and entertainment quotient to take these film to masses. On a whole, Bandipotu is a well told story with good humor. You may watch it!
Ram (Sharwanand) is an athlete (runner) whose aim to win national championship. He has a single mother (Pavitra Lokesh) who works hard to make their ends meet. He falls in love with Nazeera (Nitya Menen). Just about when they are getting closer, they are separated by fate. They get on with their individual lives and become big (one in Vizag and the other one in Kuala Lumpur). The rest of the story is all about the eternal and pure love.
Actors:
Story - screenplay - direction: Story of the film is bold, wafer-thin and non-formulaic. It talks about eternal love. While selecting such an idealistic story that deals with pristine love is appreciable, it’s equally important to narrate the movie in an engaging way by having a tight screenplay. Kranthi Madhav who has written a nice story and a few brilliant scenes has not come up with appealing narration. Narration is slow-paced and screenplay becomes predictable as story progresses. The moments between mother-son (Pavitra and Sharwanand) are endearing. A few of vital scenes (twists) look artificial.
Other departments:
Analysis: Malli Mallee Rani Roju is a mature story that deals with eternal love. Plus points of the film are performances (Sharwanand and Nitya), cinematography, music and dialogues. But a story like this should be told in an engaging style by having a good screenplay and a good emotional connect. On a whole, Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju is a good attempt, but not engaging enough!
